CAO America Potomac

Hello everyone, today I am reviewing the CAO America “Potomac” or other wise known as the robusto size. I obtained this fine specimen in the CAO America four for the 4th box set. Now I will say right up front that the CAO America is one of my favorite cigars so I’m not expecting to have a negative review for you, but we shall see.

CIGAR MAKE UP:

WRAPPER: Dark Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro and a lighter Connecticut Shade Capa.

BINDER & FILLER: Brazil/ Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, and Italian.

Length/Ring: 5X 56

Shape: Robusto

Strength: Medium

Price: I paid $ 19.99 for the box from Famous but for it individually, it’s around $5.50 – $6.50.

My Observations: You know there is really nothing negative to say about this cigar’s makeup. This CAO is basically as most CAO creations are “Superb!” in the production department. Now with that said, I found the two individual wrappers to blend well together in that I found no imperfections to speak of! On my finger touch inspection, I found no soft spots and I found the cap to be centered perfectly.

Cigar Label: This label is totally about America and our flag. I guess maybe that is why I am so partial to it. It just shouts “God Bless America! The colors consist of Red, White, Blue. The outline and lettering is gold.

Snip: Straight cut.

Pre-Draw: Smooth with a leathery type flavor.

Flavors: The 1st third of this cigar consisted of a nuts and leather. The 2nd third consisted of the nuts, leather, and coffee. The last third consisted of leather, coffee, and small hints of a peanut butter type flavor. All of these flavors make for one nice smoking cigar that will keep you interested throughout your smoke!

Draw: Perfect and smooth.

Burn line: A little jagged at time but it evens itself out.

Liked it: Yes

Recommend it: Yes

Complaints: Yes, there was to much glue used for this cigar label.

Hint: This is worth a box purchase!

Over All

Until Next Time

  1. Nice look at the America! I have had a few of these, but can’t really get into them for a daily smoke, or even a weekly one. I imagine it is the full body of it. I do like them for special occasions though. Who can no to an America or Camacho Liberty on the 4th, memorial day, veteran’s day, etc 😉
